The time has come for us to say goodbye to our Viostream legacy platform (also known as Viostream 5).
We have already notified customers individually about their Viostream 5 accounts being permanently decommissioned on 31 December 2017. We have migrated accounts to our current platform Viostream 7.4 (latest) To help you understand this process, here is an outline of what the migration process includes;
- Customer account admins are notified
- Customer account admins have determined the video content for our Customer Success team to migrate to our new platform.
- Once the video content is in your new Viostream account, we ask the Customer admin to review the account content.
- Customer account admins are required to update any legacy published embed scripts with the new Viostream embed scripts. (*If any legacy Viostream embed scripts are published, a viewer will not be able to play the video and will see an error message) (INSERT ERROR MESSAGE)
Notes: Viostream Customer Success migrate the highest quality version of your Viostream legacy video.
How do I ensure the migration to the new Viostream 7.4 platform has been successful?
After video content migration has been completed, account admins should conduct a quality assurance test by randomly selecting (at least) 5 video assets and comparing the title, description, tags, channels, etc between both platforms.
What will happen to published Viostream 5 embed scripts, group playlists or on-demand webcasts?
They will no longer work and videos will no longer play.
Will I be able to access a backup of files in my account?
Once the platform is permanently decommissioned on 31 December 2017, we won't have access to any content.
