There are several reasons that videos take time to transcode:
- The time it takes to transcode a video is related to how long the piece of content is. The longer the video is, the longer the transcoding time will be.
- The time the transcode process takes is also related to the number of formats selected to transcode the video into. When selecting multiple outputs the transcoding server needs to transcode the one source to the number of files selected, increasing the transcoding time.
- Videos submitted for transcoding are placed in a queue. If there are several videos awaiting transcoding it may take time for the video to progress through the queue before it starts transcoding.
