Administrators can create multiple secured encoders for Viostream live streaming events. This provides an improved quality and quicker streaming experience for viewers.
Contact Viostream Customer Success team to enable this feature on your account so you can set up and manage encoders on your Viostream account.
Go to the Account Management section of your account and select the Live Encoders tab
*Viostream limits the number of encoders on each account based on your contract inclusions. Contact Customer Success team to upgrade
Select to create a new encoder and enter the name of the encoder.
Enter the name of the encoder and IP address. You can manually enter the IP address or use 'Detect' to discover your IP address.
*It may take up to 4 hours to provision an encoder
We recommend naming your encoders by the source location. For example, an encoder based in a geographical location (i.e Mel, Syd, Bris), event space location (i.e office meeting room name), or internal/external network location (i.e internal or public).
It is important to understand the naming of your encoders for the administration of the pathway of the live stream. For example, where the stream is coming from.
Provisioning: Not ready for use - the status of encoder is still be requested by the provider
Provisioned: Ready for use
Select the tool bar icon to get more information on the settings of the encoder
Primary entry point: where you set your source to go to
Backup entry point: secondary source
Stream ID: Viostream stream identification number
Stream name: Viostream stream identification code
Username: Required for setting up initial stream in Viostream
Password: Required for setting up initial stream in Viostream.
HLS playback URL: URL that allows you to test the stream
*There is limited details if the encoder is still being provisioned. Check back to the settings once the encoder has been successfully provisioned
Once the encoder has been provisioned, go to the Select encoder for live stream to continue setting up.
