User-Generated Content Channels
Viostream now supports User-Generated Content (UGC) channels โ a new channel type that lets viewers upload videos directly through a branded channel page, while administrators review and moderate submissions before they go live.
UGC channels are built on the same next-gen Channels platform as existing channel types. Viewers authenticate, complete an upload form, and can track the status of their submission. Uploaded videos land in the Viostream library marked as requiring approval โ they are not published until an administrator takes action.
Administrators manage submissions from a dedicated Submissions tab on the channel detail page in Console. Each submission can be approved or rejected, with the option to provide a rejection reason. Approved videos become immediately available in the channel.
Getting started:
- In Console, create a new channel and select User-Generated Content as the channel type.
- Configure your UGC settings, including authentication requirements and submission fields.
- Share the channel link with your audience โ viewers can sign in and upload directly from the channel page.
- Review incoming submissions from the Submissions tab on your channel.
