Account Settings Overview
Viostream organises access and settings across three levels: Account, Workspace, and User. Understanding this hierarchy helps you know where to find settings and who can change them.
Account
An Account is the top-level entity in Viostream, tied to your organisation's licence. When your organisation signs up to Viostream, you receive an Account. The Account determines:
- Which plan you are on (Essentials, Premium, or Enterprise)
- Your storage and bandwidth allocations
- Which features are available to your organisation
Your Account is managed by Viostream. To change your plan or discuss licence terms, contact Customer Success via the Live Chat.
Workspace
A Workspace is the operating environment inside your Account. It contains your media library, channels, players, themes, and users. Most day-to-day administration — inviting users, configuring security, managing settings — happens at the Workspace level.
Enterprise accounts can have multiple Workspaces under a single Account. This allows large organisations to maintain separate environments for different business units, regions, or brands, each with their own users and settings, while sharing a single licence.
Users
Users belong to a Workspace. Each user has a role that determines what they can do within that Workspace — from full administrative access through to read-only analytics.
A user can be a member of more than one Workspace if they are invited to multiple Workspaces within the same Account or across different Accounts.
For a full breakdown of what each role can do, see Understanding User Roles.
Settings in This Section
Settings in Viostream are split into two categories:
- Personal Settings — settings that apply to your individual user account across all Workspaces, such as your profile, security (MFA), and notification preferences.
- Workspace Settings — settings that apply to the entire Workspace, visible and configurable by administrators only.
