Live Streaming Overview

Viostream Live Streaming lets you go live on your own terms. Connect your encoder, schedule sessions, start and stop broadcasts yourself, and embed your live stream anywhere — a Channel, your website, or your intranet. No concierge required.

Live Streaming vs Events

Viostream offers two distinct live products. Choose the one that fits your use case:

If you need registration, structured page states, or concierge support for a high-profile event, use Events. For everything else — if you just want to go live — use Live Streaming.

How it works

  1. Set up your encoder — get your RTMP ingest URL and stream key from Viostream Settings and enter them in your streaming software (OBS, Wirecast, or any RTMP-capable encoder).
  2. Create a live stream — give it a title, schedule your first session, and select your encoder.
  3. Embed it — copy the public key and embed your live stream in a Channel or directly on any page.
  4. Go live — start your encoder, then start the session in Viostream. Viewers see your broadcast live.
  5. End the session — stop the broadcast. The recording is automatically saved to your Library.
