Media Players Overview

The Viostream Player is the video player that appears when viewers watch your content — whether on your website, intranet, LMS, or any other platform. Every video and channel embed uses a Player profile to control its appearance and features.

What is a Player profile?

A Player profile is a saved configuration that controls:

• Branding — the colour scheme applied to the control bar and icons, and an optional logo
• Features — which controls are visible to viewers (speed selector, quality selector, transcript download, social sharing)
• Chapter display — how chapters are presented (progress bar, dropdown, or horizontal tabs)

You can create as many Player profiles as you need — for example, one for your public website, one for your intranet, and one for your LMS.

How Players are applied

Every embed uses a Player profile. If you do not specify one, the account default Player is used. You can override the Player on a per-embed basis when copying embed code from the Library or Channels.
