Troubleshooting Viewer Login
This article is intended for viewers trying to access a Viostream Channel or Event. For information on how to set up Channel or Event access restrictions as a host, please see the Channel Audience Controls article.
Viostream Viewer Login Overview
Viostream Channels and Events can be configured to treat viewers in the following ways:
All personal information collected is subject to Viostream's Privacy Policy, as well as the privacy policy of the organisation that owns the Channel or Event.
Open access
Anyone can access the Channel or Event without restriction. No login is required and you do not need to create an account or provide any details. Your viewing activity will still be tracked for analytics purposes but this data is aggregated based on general categories (e.g. country, state and device type).
Open registration
Anyone can access the Channel or Event by signing up with their details. You will need to provide some personal information (e.g. name, email address) to create an account, but once registered you can log in and access the content. Your viewing activity will be tracked on an individual basis for analytics purposes.
Invite only
Only viewers who have received an invitation can access the Channel or Event. After being invited, you will receive a link to the event. You will need to create an account using the same email address the invitation was sent to. Your viewing activity will be tracked on an individual basis for analytics purposes.
Common Login Issues and Solutions
I can't click the continue button
Please ensure that you have entered all required information in the login form, and click the checkbox to agree to the privacy policy.
I didn't receive my confirmation code
Check your spam or junk email folder to see if the confirmation code email was filtered there. If you still can't find it, press the Cancel login button and try filling the form again, carefully checking that your email address is correct.
Error message: "Please enter a valid code."
Check that you have entered the code we sent you correctly. The code is an 8 digit alphanumeric string (e.g. A1B2C3D4).
Error message: "The code is invalid or user can't login."
Check the code matches the code in your email exactly. If it still doesn't work, the code may have expired. Please press the Cancel login button and try filling the form again to receive a new code. Ensure that you enter the code as soon as possible as the codes are time limited.
Error message: "Sorry, you are not authorized to view this Channel/Event"
This error indicates that you are trying to access a Channel or Event that requires an invitation, but your email address is not on the invite list. Please contact the host of the Channel or Event to request an invitation.
