Create a Live Stream
A live stream is the container for all your broadcasts. You create it once and add sessions to it over time. Each live stream gets a permanent public key for embedding.
Create a new live stream
- Navigate to Live in the Viostream console.
- Click + New Live Stream.
- Fill in the New Live Stream form:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Title | The name of your live stream. This can be changed later. |
| Scheduled Start Date | Date and time of your first session. |
| Timezone | The timezone for your scheduled start date. Defaults to your local timezone. |
| Scheduled Duration | How long this session will run, in minutes. Maximum 10,080 minutes (7 days). |
| Encoder | Available encoders are shown once you enter a valid start date and duration. Select the encoder you want to use. |
- Click Add Live Stream.
What happens next
Once created, Viostream:
- Assigns a public key to your live stream (e.g.
l-r68qhsn) - Creates your first session with the scheduled start and duration you entered
- Opens the live stream detail page where you can manage sessions and copy your embed code
