Schedule a Session

A session defines a single broadcast window — when your live stream starts and ends. You can add as many sessions as you need to a live stream, making it easy to reuse the same stream for recurring broadcasts.

Add a session

1. Navigate to Live and open your live stream.
2. In the Sessions section, click + Add Session.

3. Fill in the session details:

Field	Description
Scheduled Start Date	Date and time this session will begin.
Timezone	Timezone for the scheduled start date.
Scheduled Duration	Length of the session in minutes.
Encoder	Available encoders are shown based on the date and duration.

4. Click Add Session to save.

tip

Viostream checks encoder availability when you enter the start date and duration. If your preferred encoder is already booked for another session at that time, it will not appear in the list.

Edit a session

1. In the Sessions section, click View Session on the session you want to edit.
2. Update the session details and save.

note

You can only edit a session that is in Scheduled state. Active and Completed sessions cannot be modified.

Delete a session

1. In the Sessions section, click View Session.
2. Use the delete option to remove the session.

Deleting a scheduled session removes it from the viewer slate countdown. Completed sessions cannot be deleted.
