Uploading your Media

Uploading a Media Asset is the first step in publishing your video. After you login, you'll be taken to your  Library. This is where you can manage all the Media in your account.

So without further ado, let's upload your first video!

Uploading Media

Once your file has been uploaded, we will process it so that it is suitable for streaming. This typically takes 0.5x - 0.8x the length of your video - so for a five minute video it should be done in 3-4 minutes.

From your device

1. Click on Upload Media
2. Click My Device to browse your device and select the file to upload
3. Wait while your video is processed

From your cloud storage

1. Click on Upload Media
2. Select the your cloud storage service out of Zoom, Google Drive, Box, Dropbox, or OneDrive
3. Log into your cloud storage with your credentials and navigate to the video you would like to upload, and select.
4. Wait while your video is processed

From a URL

1. Click on Upload Media
2. Type the publically available link to the video you want to upload
3. Click the Import button
4. Wait while your video is processed

Viostream supports a wide range of codecs and containers.

Media approval process

For videos uploaded through our UGC Site, Media will be uploaded in the Pending Review state displayed in your  Library. These videos will need to be approved by an account admin before they can be moved into the  Library proper. You will be able to edit the title and description of your Media Asset, and edit and publish the Automated Captions.

Admin or publisher users can approve Media for publication by navigating to the Pending Review section of the  Library.
