April 2026 Updates
Here's a summary of the features and improvements we've shipped over the past few months across live streaming, channels, media management, and player customisation.
Live Streaming (Beta)โ
We are introducing am updated suite of live streaming capabilities that make it easier to create, manage, and monitor live events directly from Viostream.
Encoder Schedulingโ
Schedule your live encoders in advance so your streaming infrastructure is ready to go when your event starts. Scheduling removes the need for manual encoder start-up and helps ensure a smooth broadcast experience.
Encoder Channel Pollingโ
Live encoder status is now polled in real time, giving you up-to-date visibility into whether your encoder is connected, streaming, or offline. No more guessing whether your feed is active.
Encoder Managementโ
Workspace administrators can now view and manage encoders directly from workspace settings. This gives you centralised visibility over your live streaming infrastructure.
Channel Improvementsโ
Streamlined Channel Interfaceโ
We've simplified the channel management interface, reducing unnecessary complexity and making it faster to configure and publish channels.
Logo Stylingโ
Customise the appearance of your logo within the player. Adjust the size, position, and styling of your brand logo to better match your organisation's visual identity.
Font Widgetโ
Control the typography in your player overlays and channel pages with the new font widget. Select from available fonts and configure text styling to maintain brand consistency across your video experiences.
Convert Legacy Channelsโ
Existing legacy channels can now be converted to the new channel format, giving you access to the latest channel features and customisation options without recreating your content from scratch.
Invite Users on Publishโ
Channel event invitations are now sent only when an event is published, rather than when it's created in draft. This prevents premature notifications and gives you full control over when your audience is informed.
Media Managementโ
Filter by Uploaderโ
You can now filter your media library by the user who uploaded each item. This is particularly useful for larger teams where multiple people contribute content and you need to quickly find media uploaded by a specific colleague.
Player Customisationโ
Player Key Visibilityโ
Player keys are now visible directly in the player list, making it easier to identify and reference specific player configurations when setting up embeds or integrating with the Player SDKs.
