September 2026 Updates
A summary of customer-facing improvements and fixes shipped in September 2026.
Eventsโ
Automatic On-Demand Recordingsโ
When a live event ends, Viostream now automatically produces an on-demand recording from the live stream. The Convert to On-Demand wizard surfaces the event's own recording(s) directly, so operators no longer need to manually download, edit, and re-upload a video after every event. Events with an alternate stream will have both the primary and alternate recordings available. Where no Viostream recording is available, the library picker remains as a fallback.
Slide Timing Correction at Conversionโ
When converting a live event to on-demand, slide timings are anchored to the original live stream start time. If the recording has been trimmed โ or a library recording starting at a different point is used โ timings can drift out of sync. The Convert to On-Demand wizard now includes a bulk offset shift step, letting operators re-align all slide timings at conversion time. Per-slide fine-tuning remains available via the Slide Cuepoint Manager on the Content tab after conversion.
Edit Slides After Event Endsโ
Admins can now review and edit slide cuepoints while an event is in the POST (post-event) status, making it easier to correct slide timings before publishing the on-demand recording.
Live Streamingโ
Pre-Event Encoder Bufferโ
Admins can now configure a buffer period before each encoder booking. This reserves a window before the scheduled event start time โ giving operators time to start and test the encoder signal โ without that window being bookable by another session. Previously, encoders could be booked back-to-back with no gap, leaving no time for pre-event testing.
Wall Clock Latency Calibration for Slide Directorโ
The slide director now includes a wall clock test wizard to accurately calibrate ingest latency. Operators film a wall clock, enter the difference between what they see on the wall and what they see in the encoder stream, and the system automatically derives the true ingest latency by subtracting the measured playback latency. This replaces the manual clap test, which captured total latency and caused slides to appear early. Slide pushing is blocked until calibration is complete.
UGCโ
Resumable Uploadsโ
The UGC video uploader now uses the tus resumable-upload protocol. If a contributor's connection drops or they accidentally close the tab mid-upload, the upload will automatically resume from where it left off when they return โ rather than requiring a full re-upload. This is particularly beneficial for large files submitted from mobile devices or unreliable connections.
Channelsโ
Template Asset Uploaderโ
Admins building channel pages, event pages, and UGC pages in the template editor can now upload images directly from within the editor. Uploaded assets are stored in an account-scoped library and can be re-selected later via the asset picker, making it easier to apply consistent branding across templates.
Media Managementโ
Download Captions as SRTโ
Captions can now be downloaded in SubRip (.srt) format from the media editor,
in addition to the existing WebVTT (.vtt) option. This makes it easier to use
captions in video editing software, broadcast systems, and accessibility
workflows that require SRT files.
