Media Access Policy

The Media Access Policy determines the default audience setting applied to all newly uploaded media in your workspace. Navigate to the  Settings page and select Media Access Policy from the sidebar.

Access Options

OptionDescription
PublicNew media is publicly accessible to anyone with the link
RestrictedNew media has a Restriction Profile applied automatically

Change the Default Policy

  1. Navigate to Media Access Policy in the  Settings page.
  2. Select either Public or Restricted.
  3. If you select Restricted, choose which Restriction Profile to apply by default.
  4. Click Save Changes.
tip

The Media Access Policy only affects media uploaded after you save the setting. Existing media is not changed. Individual media items can always be adjusted manually by admin and publisher users.

Locking the Default Policy

If you need to enforce consistent access control across your workspace, you can lock the default restriction profile to prevent non-admin users from overriding audience settings on individual media items.

To enable the lock:

  1. Ensure Restricted is selected and a default Restriction Profile is chosen.
  2. Enable the Lock default restriction profile toggle.

When locked:

  • publisher and creator users see a read-only view of audience settings on media items.
  • admin users can still override the profile on individual items but are prompted to confirm the change.
note

The lock toggle is only available when a Restriction Profile is set as the default. Removing the default profile automatically clears the lock.
