Adding event content
Jumping to a specific state
The Content tab on your event page shows a snapshot of what's set for each state — Pre-Event, During (Live), Post-Event, and On Demand — with the current state highlighted. Hover over a state's thumbnail and click Change content to jump straight to that state in the editor, without digging through menus.
Opening the full content editor
- Click Customise on your event page.
- Stay on the Content tab of the editor (this is the default).
Event details
The Event Details panel has four tabs:
- Title — the display title shown to viewers (defaults to the event title)
- Summary — the main description of your event, shown to viewers. Aim for around 200 characters
- Documents — upload files for viewers to download, drag to reorder them
- Calendar Invite — customise the text used when a viewer adds your event to their calendar
Supported document formats
| Document type | File extension(s) |
|---|---|
.pdf | |
| MS Word | .doc .docx |
| MS PowerPoint | .ppt .pptx |
Speakers
Lists the presenters or hosts of your event. For each speaker, add a name, a short biography, and a photo.
Audience sign-in
Sets the Privacy Disclaimer text your audience must agree to before signing in — this only matters if you require viewers to sign in; see Managing viewer access to turn that on.
Setting content for each state
The Pre-Event, During (Live), Post-Event, and On Demand panels each have two tabs:
- Media — select an image or a video from your Library (or a Live stream, During (Live) only) as the content shown for that state
- Article — toggle whether your event summary shows on the page, and optionally add Additional Content
Additional Content starts in a basic block editor. Click the
icon to switch to an Advanced editor for raw HTML
— this supports
Bootstrap markup, so you can build richer
layouts with cards, columns, and buttons (see
Customising your event).
Once your content uses block elements the basic editor doesn't support
(like <div> or <table>), the editor locks to Advanced and can't switch
back.
Alternate streams
The During (Live) and On Demand panels also let you select an Alternate Stream — an optional second stream offering a different viewing experience of the same event, for example an AUSLAN interpretation. Viewers can switch to it from the player.
Slides
Upload a .ppt, .pptx, or .pdf file (up to 50MB) as your live slide
deck — Viostream converts it to slides automatically. Once slides are added,
use the Director to cue and push them live — see
Running your event with the Director.
Once your event is converted to On Demand, use the Slide Cuepoint Manager to sync slide timings to the recording.
Saving your changes
Click Save Changes once you're done.
